Characteristic of the patio-garden is the fact, that it is, more or less, surrounded by walls. And within these walls an almost mediterranean atmosphere can be created, because the walls provide the necessary shelter en besides that save the energy of the sun to cause warmer nights in the nearby surroundings.
And because much of the surface of the garden is covered by stone and/or gravel, this effect will be accumulated. Thanks to this effect plants like lavender, guided fruit and all kinds of alpine plants will thrive very well.
Important style-elements are italian pottery, with or without plants in them, and the stylish garden-furniture.
This type of garden is very suitable for a smaller area, especially in a city, where the micro-climate already is more pleasant for mediterranean plants.
The patio-garden is quite easy to maintain and can be left alone for weeks.
